The Easter Clearance Aftermath

Just because you don't celebrate Easter doesn't mean you can't enjoy the candy, right?  I love peeps.  And I don't understand people who don't.  If you like marshmallows... and you like sugar... you should like peeps.  Basic logic, peeps.

So anyway, my favorite way to eat marshmallows (besides in a fluff sandwich when I'm 6 months pregnant... that's another story), is between some chocolate and a graham cracker.  Good stuff.  So let's get started.

peeps1

I had an extra peeper... so I ate him while I waited for this to happen:

Stick 'em in the microwave and the blow up into little fat peeps.  When you remove them, they start to deflate.  I only needed like 15 seconds in my sucktastic microwave.

And then you smush 'em with the other half of the cracker and the heat from the peep helps melt the chocolate into chocolately chocolate heaven.

Now, you want to try to eat these right away, or the marshmallow can get kinda rubbery.  So don't eat them while you are hiding from your child and have to put it down a bunch of times.  Or when you're trying to put her down for a nap.  You really want to enjoy these...

peeps5

Cause this is the aftermath.  Yeah, just chocolate drippings...  Oh hell, who am I kidding?

peeps6

THIS.  is the aftermath.  You *must* scrape the drippings with the smores (or, just use your fingers.  not that I did or anything.  snort.)  Who leaves perfectly good chocolate on a plate like that for the dishwasher to eat up?  Please.

Uhhh... now I'm going to run 20 miles.  But it's all worth it, right?  The peeps were on clearance!

I Heart Faces - Pets

I love my cat Bronxie with all my heart... after all, he was my first baby.  But just around the corner from my house are the three most beautiful horses I've ever seen.  Let me tell you, I'm not a horse person.  I never grew up with model horses, never dreamed of riding one, and generally always thought that they were kinda smelly.  Like cows.

However.  These animals are gorgeous.  And gentle.  And extremely patient while I was trying to get the shot.  And while he might not be *my* pet, for the first time ever, I wish I had a horse!

Spring... Sort Of.

In years past, I remember the few days before Easter being warm, sunny and pretty enjoyable.  This year... not so much.  But despite the cold, we ventured out to a friend's house on Friday for some Easter egg decorating - and playing in her enormous backyard (which included a trampoline... pictures *not* included).

Lily decided to try the big girl swing... after all... there were babies in the other one!

and this never happens...  I have a recent picture of me and Lily!  Mary grabbed my camera and offered to take a picture - whoo hoo!

and Lily loved showing off her eggs!  I'm so glad we have local friends to do this with - and we look forward to doing it in years to come!

Oops!

Clearly this is why I didn't choose to do a 365 project.  I could barely keep up with a 52 week project... and while there were a couple of weeks that I didn't pick up my camera, when I did, Lily wasn't sick and tired of the camera and actually worked with me!

Lots of you saw the smiley picture of this set on facebook... but here are some cute accidents.

I promise there will be more to come!
